    "29 April A.D. 1766 in the sixth year of his Majesty's Reign", the widow, Hannah, cited to appear. 5 May 1766 she gave bond as administrator of Jonathan's estate. 9 May 1766: inventory of "Estate of Jona Powers Late of Lancaster yeoman departed (dyedfeard)". [Note: it does not say "dyedfeard". It says estate which he "dyed seas'd of", i.e., "died seized of", meaning, that he possessed at the time of his death.] 7 Jul 1766: Accounting sworn to by Hannah Powers and approved, mentions Jacob Powers Eldest son, and "the other children being eight". But living 14 Oct 1762 when executed deed to son Oliver as "Jonathan Powers of Lancaster", recorded 7 Jun 1764.

    In lieu of a will, Jonathan distributed his land to his sons Amos, Ephraim, Jonathan, Oliver and Manasseh by deeds written in 1762:

    "Know all men by these presents that I Manasseh Powers of Lancaster in the County of Worcester & Massachusetts State yeoman in Consideration of sixty seven pounds ten shilings Lawfull money paid by Amos Powers of Leominster in the County aforesaid yeoman the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby give grant sell and convey unto the said Amos Powers Thirty Acres of land situate in Princeton aforesaid ... which was Given to me by my Hon'd Father Mr Jonathan Powers late of Lancaster aforesaid Deceased as will appear by a Deed Dated October 14th AD 1762 and Recorded March 1th 1771 in the County Records Libro 64 page 349 ... this Twentieth Day of December AD seventeen hundred and seventy six."
