    "Curtis, Jonathan, s. of William. Born at Stratford, 14 Feb. 1644/5; d. there in 1681. In Stratford Deeds, he had land by gift from his father Lt. William Curtis and by gift from his father-in-law John Thompson. Inv. 10 Oct. 1681; widow Abigail, two sons and two daus. Wife was called Abigail at birth of child 1679. … In 1692 Abigail and Sarah Curtis receipted to their mother for right from brother William Curtis and uncle John Thompson, referring to father Jonathan Curtis dec'd. In 1709 Abigail Sherman conveyed to son Jonathan Curtis, who obliged himself to satisfy her son-in-law Francis Griffin with portion due from Est. of her dec'd husband Jonathan Curtis and her son William Curtis."
