Children of Dea. Jonathan Adams and Elizabeth Fussell: Jonathan, b. East Medway 1679 [sic, see following comment], d. 1744, m. 1697 Thamezin Sheffield.
[Note: this source shows the Jonathan b. 1671 dying young and then inserts a third son Jonathan with an estimated birthdate of 1679. No evidence for a third Jonathan has been found, either a death record of the second, a birth of the third, or an age at death showing such a birth. Since a birth in 1679 would make Jonathan only 17 at time of marriage, way under legal age, and since no justification has been given, we can only chalk this up as confusion on the part of the author. Vol. 27, p. 182 Will of "Jonathan Adams of Medfield ... being sick & weak in a low Condition", dated 6 Jul 1743, proved 26 Jun 1744, names eldest son Ezekiel Adams [to "pass on to Ezekiel Adams the son of the afores'd Ezekiel my Grandson", the grandson paying his three sisters that is to Thamazin Adams, Sarah Adams and Bethiah Adams]; second son Jonathan Adams [elsewhere called his youngest son] "all the Estate that was my Brother Jasper Adams's dece'd", he paying "my two Daughters to Thamezin the wife of Joseph Elice and to Hannah the wife of Jonathan Jones"; grandson Nathan Adams. Eldest son to be executor.
