    Dated 4 October 1889. John F. Writer, farmer, of the town of Mount Hope, Orange Co., New York, bequeaths to wife Phebe C. Writer, son Benjamin F. Writer, and daughter Alice Seybolt. His son Samuel R. Writer had already been given property. Exs. son Benjamin and nephew Dr. Theodore Writer. Witnesses Theodore Writer and Lewis L. Writer (both of Otisville).

    John died 22 March 1891. Benjamin F. Writer and Theodore Writer petitioned the court on 1 April 1891. Afterward citations were sent. The will was proved 14 April 1891 by both witnesses at the Surrogate's office in Goshen.
