Shenandoah County, VA Court Records, 1779: To cash paid to the children and heirs of John Jacob Wolf Deceased who was one of the sons of the testator to wit: to John Jacob Wolfe, Clora, the wife of Anthony Rodenheffer, Margaret the wife of George Miller, Augustine Wolfe, Barbara the wife of John Cook, George Woolf, Mary the wife of Conrad Reeder, Adam Wolf and John Wolf, to each the sum of £2.17.9 as per their receipts respectively.
(John) Jacob Woolf Administration, 25 March 1779: Know by all men these presents that we Mary Wolf and Godfrey Wilkins are held and firmly bound unto Abraham Bird, Johnas North, Joseph Watson and ____ ____, gentlemen Justices of the County Court of Shenandoah County are (?) setting in the sum of ten thousand pounds current money of Virginia to which the payment will and truly be made to the justices and their successors we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our heirs Executor Administrators jointly and severally (?) by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 25 Day of March 1779.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Mary Woolf Administratrix of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of Jacob Woolf, deceased do make or cause to be made a true and just inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of the Deceased which have or shall come to the hands of the said Mary Woolf or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her will and truly administrate according to law and further do make a just and true account of her acting and being therein when thereto required by the said Court and all the rest and residue of the goods and chattels and credits of the said Deceased which shall be found remaining on the said administration account the same being first examined and allowed by the said Court for the time being shall deliver and pay unto such persons as respectively the said Justices by their order and if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will and Testament was made by the said Jacob Woolf and the executors therein named do exhibit the same into the said Court making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said Mary Woolf being there unto required do (to?) render and deliver up the letter of Administration approbation of such testament being first had and made in the said Court then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

[Note: the above Estate Administration proves that John Jacob Wolfe's wife was named Mary [maiden name not known] and NOT Sarah Elizabeth Anderschall as some have claimed. There are supposedly records of a Sarah Elizabeth Anderschall marrying a Jacob Wolfe, but NOT this Jacob Wolfe].
