    Anderson errs in saying that this John Wilson was baptized in the First Church, Boston, 3 March 164[3/]4. According to the Boston Church Records, he, then about 20 years of age, was admitted to his father's church.

    Rev. John2 Wilson, (Rev. John1), was born Sep. 1621 in England, died Aug. 23, 1691 aged nearly 70 at Medfield. He was brought to New England by his father on his second voyage in May 1632, graduated in the first class at Harvard College 1642, admitted to his father's church in Boston Mar. 3, 1644 and made freeman of the colony May 26, 1647. In 1649 he became assistant to Rev. Richard Mather at Dorchester and in 1651 went to Medfield where in Dec. he was made the first minister of that place, and ordained there Oct. 12, 1652 and continued there for forty years until his death. He was also physician and school master there. He owned and rented out the southern half of his father's large farm at Braintree (now Wollaston and No. Quincy) which was given to him in 1667 and at his own death in 1691 willed it to his son John who came here to reside in 1692.

John Wilson, Aug. 20, 1691 -, mentions wife Sarah, son John who received his share of the Braintree farm, daughter Sarah wife of Josiah Torrey formerly wife of Paul Batt, daughter Susanna wife of Grindall Rawson, grandchild Thomas Weld, son of daughter Elizabeth deceased, formerly wife of Thomas Weld.
