John Wild was born in England in 1618, with brother William settled in Ipswich prior to 1637. Served in Pequot War in 1637, allowed 3 shillings in 1639 for his service. Mentioned in 1643 as one of soldiers who should be allowed 12 shillings ad day of service. Moved to Topsfield about 1645 where he married Priscilla Gould and served in many minor municipal employments. Priscilla died April 1663, John remarried in November to Sarah Averill. During witchcraft delusion his wife, two daughters and a son-in-law were imprisoned and tried. His wife was connected and executed. (Details in Collections of the Essex Institute). John married 3rd Mary Jacobs of Sallem, in 1693. He died 14 May 1705, Topsfield.
