  3.   Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. History of the Town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts from Its Settlement in 1717 to 1829, p. 452, identifies the wife of John Taintor/Tayntor as Sarah Newton, but notes his error and corrects himself in Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Ward Family, p. 39, identifying her as Sarah Ward. According to Source:Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States. Vital Records of Marlborough, Massachusetts, to the End of the Year 1849, p. 314, Sarah Newton married "John Taint" 4 Jan 1740-1, but surely this could not be the "John Tainter" who married four months later (20 May 1741) Sarah Ward.
