• Vol. 2 - Joseph Switzer and Elizabeth, late Lockhart; Joseph Polk and Mary, his wife, late Lockhart; Margaret and Susanna Lockhart, coparceners ["joint heirs"] of William Lockhart, deceased, vs. Graham--O. S. 107; N. S. 36--Bill 20th July, 1804. William died after 1787. [Note: William Lockhart was the uncle of Joseph Switzer's wife Elizabeth Lockhart. Some researchers have assumed from this record that William was Elizabeth's father, but that appears to be in error].

   Descendants of John Switzer and Roanna Caldwell. Rosanna was the daughter of Robert Caldwell (deceased) and his wife Mary Caldwell. John and Rosanna were married November 16, 1790 by Edward Crawford. Rosanna later married Asabel Atherton on August 8, 1832. [??, perhaps a daughter?] John married (2) Elizabeth Lockhart in 1800. Elizabeth was the daughter of Major Patrick Lockhart, large landholder, attorney, justice and Revolutionary officer. Children of John by his first marriage were:
