[Note: based upon this record, it appears that John is providing surety for his likely sister Polly Steele, who married Andrew McClure. John is identified as "son of Andrew Steele" in both records, and Martin Bush, John's father-in-law provided surety with him, also in both records, which appears to provide circumstantial proof that this is the same John Steele].
