Notes

It is likely that "Sprouts Run", a tributary of the James River was named for John Sprout. "Sprouts Run" is described as a "small right-hand branch of James River in Botetourt County" in A Gazetteer of Virginia and West Virginia, by Henry Gannett, pg. 138. It is a stream located just 4.9 miles from Buchanan, in Botetourt County, in the state of Virginia, near Solitude, Virginia. (Source: http://www.hookandbullet.com/fishing-sprouts-run-buchanan-va/]
