    This John is the son of John of South Mylls, Bedfordshire. John of South Mylls married Etheldred Baker, not Christian Baker. There is a John of Kempston who married Christian Baker, the branch from which the Four Spencer brothers descended. This error between the two Baker women was introduced by several early genealogies.
