The final settlement of the estate of John Smith on 31 July 1734 mentions "Samuel Smith one of Sd John Smiths Sons", "ye Children of Dean Smith Deceased which Sd Dean Smith was one of sd John Smiths Sons", "when Sd John Smith Deceased he left Surviveing Six Sons viz Sam'l ye Eldest, Dean, John Stephen, David & Seth and Three Daughters viz Mercy Mary & Bethiah and that Sd Dean who is Since Deceased", "Sd Dean Smith is Since Deaceased Leaving four Children viz Dean, Heman, Asaph, Sons & Meriam a daughter", "Bethiah Smith the widow and Relect of ye Sd John Smith Deceased", "Hester Smith widow of Sd Dean".
