One of John Small's great-grandsons, Hervey Small (b.abt 1803 in Wayne County, Kentucky)left a family Bible in which he mentioned Martha's marriage to William McMillan:

"The following is the best account of my ancestry that I have been able to attain. My great Grand Father was of Scottish parents but he was from Ireland to the United States. His name was John Small I have seen his Bible and hand writing. He raised his family in Albnemarle County Virginia. He had two sons Matthew and Henry . Henry died on his return from the army in the revolutionary war he had no family His daughter (Eggans) was married to James Robertson, MARTHA to WILLIAM McMILLAN, Rebecca to Thomas Woods, Esther to James Denny, Sally to Isaac Barnett. Matthew married Jane Henderson his sons were Thomas William John and Henry daughters Jane Dorcas Elizabeth and Rebecca. I think Isaac{?} was his -a"
