Sources S1. Maryland Catholics on the Frontier John J. Seibel held a considerable number of political offices. He served as deputy county clerk, circuit clerk from 1870 to 1874, public administrator, probate judge and prosecuting attorney of Perry Co., MO. He represented his county in the 29th General Assembly of the State of Missouri in 1877. He was an editor of the Perry County Sun. In the Civil War he served as a captain in Co. A, 8th Provisional Regiment of the Enrolled Missouri Militia.
