WILL OF JOHN SCOTT - JANUARY COURT 1793

In the name of God Amen I John Scott of Antrim Parish and County of Halifax, being indisposed in body but in perfect mind and memory do make constitute and ordain this to be my last Will and testament and none other which may be or which may have been heretofore made. I leave and lend to my son William Scott one hundred acres called William's tract also fifteen pounds cash to be paid out of my estate on his paying to my daughter Frances Scott twenty five pounds within 3 years after he comes to lawful age. I leave and lend to my son John Scott a tract or parcel of land I purchased of Galen Watts upon his paying to my daughter Dicey Scott twenty five pounds within three years after he comes to lawful age. I leave and lend to my son Samuel Scott a tract or parcel of land which I purchased from Matthew Price lying on the middle fork of Winns Creek .... that he my son Samuel do pay to my daughter Elizabeth Scott twenty five pounds cash within three years after he comes to lawful age. I leave and lend to my beloved wife Dicey Scott the land and plantation whereon I now do live lying on both sides of the main... of Winns Creek during her natural life with the use benefit and labour of certain negro slave named Jyp [Jys?] inclusive of my household and kitchen furniture with Stock of every kind be it of whatsoever kind or Quality for the bring (sic) up and teaching my children. I leave and give to my two sons Abner and Pleasant Scott after the death of my beloved wife Dicy Scott the land whereon I now do live as before left to my wife also my still and clock at the pleasure and discretion of her my beloved wife and lastly I do appoint constitute and ordain my beloved wife Dicey Scott Extr with my son William Scot and Joseph Pulliam Senr Exors of this my last will and testament hoping they will see the same duly performed as my will is in them Reposed and Confirming this and none other but this to be my last Will and testament In witness whereof I do herewith my hand and seal first day of October 1792.
