1841 - With widowed mother and Rhoda, with Robert and Elizabeth WOMACK (grandparents) on the Green, North Lopham.

1851 - With mother and step-father in Rockland St Peter. Employed after machines, aged 15, born at North Lopham, Norfolk. Family name recorded as SAYER.

1859 - Living in Rockland St Peter at the time of his marriage. Machinist.

1861 - Living at Fairland in Hingham, with wife and one son. Occupation given as "Thrashing Machine". Aged 25. Family name recorded as SAYER.

1862 - Occupation on birth certificate of his son, John, given as machinist.

1865 - Occupation on Gertrude's birth certificate given as agricultural machinist (information from Norwich Register Office), and on her death certificate as miller.

1871 - In Yarmouth St Nicholas, North District 11 with wife and four children. Journeyman miller. Family name recorded as SAYER.

1881 - At Laws Farm, Horsey, Norfolk, with Mary Ann, the three children from his first marriage and one-year old Sabina (listed on census index as Selina). Farm bailiff, aged 45, born at South Lopham, Norfolk. Family name recorded as SAYER.
