Normally, according to the forward, p. 1:7, Jan 1684 would mean Jan 1683/4. However, this entry follows an entry for Sept 1684, and one would expect the two months to be consecutive, so apparently, in this case, it refers to Dec 1684 and Jan 1684/5.]
