  3. There were two distinct persons named John Pike Jr. listed in overlapping time frames in VR Newbury. They must be distinguished by the names of their wife.

John Sr. (1671-1752) was the uncle of this John. The John of this page settled in Framingham initially, so apparently John Jr. was applied to his cousin John, b. 1710, s/o Thomas, who m. Sarah Moody. Then when this John moved back to Newbury soon after his second marriage to Abigail, by age he would have been the second oldest John Pike in Newbury, and he is referred to as John Jr. in the birth records of his three daughters. However, his cousin was also referred to as John Jr., from 1735 until 1751, most of which period both this John Jr. and John Sr. were still alive.

The Pike family of Newbury is covered in NEHGRS2.
