Obituary

"John Paulin Killed in Traffic Accident. John Paulin, 35, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Paulin, formerly of rural Kingsley, now of Le Mars, and a brother of a local resident, was killed in a traffic accident early Monday morning, February 18, near Long Beach, California. Details about the accident are not available at this time; however it is known that Mr. Paulin, a navy man, was on his way back to his base after a weekend visit in the home of a cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Paulin at Torrence, California, when the mishap occurred. Arrangements for the funeral services are pending. Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Paulin are vacationing in Mexico and although every means to contact them are in motion, including the Red Cross and the American Consulate in Mexico, relatives here had not yet heard from them by early evening Tuesday."
