John D. Pattison, 72, of 1315 Elm Lane, Marion, Ind., died at 4:07 p.m. Feb. 25, 1992, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born in New Castle on April 6, 1919. He had lived in Marion since 1955.

Prior ot his retirement, Dr. Pattison had a private medical practice in Marion since 1955. He belonged to Wesminster Presbyterian Church, Marion.

Dr. Pattison graduated from Geneva College and earned a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1944. He served an internship at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Md., and served in the Pacific during World War II. He served as a resident in internal medicine at the Veterans Hospital in Aspinwall, Pa.

Dr. Pattison was a Navy flight surgeon during the Korean War and was stationed on the Island of Malta.

He belonged to the Marion Exchange Club, Grant Country Medical Society, Meshingomesia Country Club, Marion General Hospital staff, Scottish Rite of Toledo. Ohio, Toledo Lodge and the Zenabin Temple.

Dr. Pattison was also the coroner for Grant County for eight years.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; a son, Robert of Kokomo, Ind.,; a daughter, Michelle Hazelett of Indianapolis; two brothers, Allen of Venice, Fla., and Milton of New Castle; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be observed noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kenn Road, Marion.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Westminster Presbyterian Chruch by the Rev. Dr. Andrew Schramm. Burial will follow in Grant Memorial Park, Marion. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kindey Foundation in Indiana or to the Marion General Hospital Oncology Department.
