BIOGRAPHY: John settled in Watertown Farms, now Weston, MA. He was an original member and one of the first deacons of the Weston Church having been elected on 4 Jan 1709/10. He served until his resignation on 29 Jun 1741. John was a successful farmer and caring father who provided for all of his sons. He bought a farm for his eldest son, John, in Pomfret, CT. On 21 Jan 1734/35, John gave to each of his two youngest sons, Isaac and Jonas, by deed of gift, 80.5 acres of land in Mendon, MA, which he had bought from Caleb Gardner, who was then of Newport, RI.
