!OBIT: "John Edward MURPHY-Camas, Wash., Nov 24.-(Special) John Edward MURPHY, a pioneer of Oregon and for 25 years a prominent business man of Salem, Or., died at his home near this city November 3 at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his widow, nine children, five sisters and a brother, as follows: Mrs. A. W. CHANDLER of Portland; Mrs. Reber MURPHY, St. Helens; Ivan MURPHY and Mrs. Fred WINTERS of Bend; Mrs. Sam MORRIS, Broadmead, Or.; Mrs. William J. THOMAS, Marshfield; Rex and the Misses Lois, Claudine and Josephine MURPHY of this city. The sisters and brother are George MURPHY and Mrs. Joe STEVENS, Salem; Mrs. Ben BARNES, Seattle; Mrs. M. L. KEITH, Mrs. Mary MUNKERS and Mrs. W. H. TRUENBACH, Portland. Mr. MURPHY was a member of the Free Methodist church." Portland Oregonian Nov. 25, l923, Sec 2 p 4. References
