1800 Augusta County, Virginia Tax List:2601, District B, p. 19. 17 March 1800, John Moore, one white male tithable over the age of 16, no slaves, 5 horses, $60 tax. A Peter Moore was visited on the same day and assessed as follows: one white male tithable over the age of 16, no slaves, 2 horses, $24 tax. Other researchers have identified a Peter Johannes Moore or Mohr as the father of John Moore, but this has not been proven.
