1921 obituary-JH Midkiff, age 67, died at the home of WJ Jarrett after an illness of six weeks at 821 Hill Street, Wednesday night at 11:30 Mr Midkiff was the oldest section foreman on the Appalachia Division of the Souther railway, having been in the service since 1885. He had a wide circle of friends on the Southern railway system and was liked by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and six children as follows: WT Midkiff, Alexandria, VA; IG Midkiff, Harlin, KY; CO Midkiff, Roda, VA; Mrs WJ Jarrett, Bristol, TN; Mrs CD Was, Norton, VA; Mrs Robert Arr, Andover, VA; all of who are expected to be present at the funeral, which will be held at 821 Hill Street, Friday, December 23, at 3 pm. The Rev GT Byrd of the First Methodist church will conduct the services. Burial at 4 pm in East Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers will be JW Wampler, MM Carmody, SG Henley, FM Brown, BL Stockton, ML Groseclose. Flower bearers, FM Rader, RJ Grubbs, WD Logan, JW Emmert, JC McMillian and CT Biggers
