Parentage of John Long

Note: the parentage of John Long is apparently disputed by many researchers. There are many Ancestry Member Trees claiming that he either the child of Adam Long and Margaret Ruebush, John Kennedy Long and Sarah Ball, John Long and Elizabeth Fryer, or Thomas Long and Margaret Thatcher. John Long's birthdate is variously listed as either in 1748 or 1795, but the 1850 Census clearly establishes the latter as his correct birthdate. More research is necessary.
