c1822 - Discharged from 4th Foot Regiment at age 44. (UK National Archives online, Royal Hospital Chelsea: Soldiers Service Documents WO 97/263/96)

1841 - With wife, 3 children, married daughter and her 2 children at Gosford Street, Coventry St Michael, Warwickshire. Cooper and P[ensioner], aged 60, not born in the county.

1848 - Death Certificate records that John was a Chelsea Pensioner, 4th Regiment of Foot, aged 70 years. He died of congestion of the brain (48 hours) at home - 34 Shepherd Street, Christchurch, with his wife present.
