Facts and Events
John was engaged to Sarah Battles in 1764, but there is no record of their actual marriage, nor of her death prior to his marriage to Susannah Washburn in 1768. The engagement may have been broken, and she may have been the Sarah Battles who had a daughter 8 months after the marriage intention was published, and/or the Sarah Battles who married Jonathan Sawyer 28 Sep 1766.
