Notes

John Jones, of Montgomery county, North Wales, and his wife, Elizabeth, emigrated to VA about 1720. They settled at Williamsburg, and their first child, a daughter, Elizabeth, was born within the precincts of the college on August 12th 1721. About three years later, on May 1, 1724, their son Gabriel Jones was born in Frederick county near Williamsburg. Another son, John, was born June 12, 1725. John Jones, the father of Gabriel, died about 1727. Mrs. Jones and her children returned to England on February 20, 1727. Her daughter was baptized at St. Giles-in-the-Fields, London, as shown by the parish record.
