  7. Obituary, in Williamsburg Journal (Iowa, Iowa)
    3:3, 25 Apr 1890.

Mr. John Jones, had been failing in health for some time and his death was not a surprise to his friends, though non the less did it cause profound sorrow. Faithful and amiable, he was highly respected by all who knew him. He testified that he was prepared for the change, enjoying peace with God and the hope of glory.

He was born at Cwmpenanan [Cwm Penanner], near Bala, North Wales, in the year 1815, so that he was in his 75th year of his age when he died. Early in age he moved to Festiniog, where he married and lived for many years. Afterwards the couple, with three little children,--who survive him, namely: Mrs. Roberts, Blue Springs, Neb., Mrs. J. W. Evans, (ty canol), and John Jones, New Hampton, Ia.,--emigrated to this country. They settled first in the state of Vermont, and lived there a number of years. Afterwards he and his family moved to Williamsburgh, where they lived the remainder of his life. He endured his lingering illness without complaint, in his quiet, gentle manner and appreciating in his own amiable way all the loving attentions bestowed upon him.

Mr. Jones was true and faithful in his Christian life and his character was adorned with many excellent qualities and graces, so that his loss will be keenly felt in his home.

May the Lord help and comfort his widowed daughter and her children, as well as his surviving son and daughter in their hard trials. J.
