John2 Hollister (John1), born about 1642, died at Glastonbury, Conn., 24 Nov. 1711; … In June 1710, John Hollister, Sr., of Glastonbury, Yeoman, sued John Hollister, Jr., of Glastonbury, Cordwainer, because the latter unjustly entered into 7 acres at Nayaug in Glastonbury, being the 'Fee and Inheritance' of the said John Hollister, Sr., which he had by Articles of Agreement and Settlement between (1) Thomas Treat and (2) Thomas, David, Ephraim and Joseph Hollister. The will of John Hollister, Sr., of Glastonbury, dated 22 Nov. 1711, proved 19 Dec. 1711, named his sons, John, Thomas, David, and Ephraim; daughter Sarah; son Joseph; daughter Elizabeth Hollister, single woman; mentions inheritance from brother Lazarus and brother Joseph."

    Hollister, John, Sen., Glastonbury. Invt. £79-06-09. Taken 1st April, 1712, by Thomas Hale, Nathaniel Talcott and Samuel Hale. Will dated 22 November, 1711.

    Know all men by these presents: That whereas, I, John Hollister, Sen., of Glastonbury, being sick, do make this my last will and testament: My will is that what I have already settled upon my sons, viz., John, Thomas, David and Ephraim Hollister, shall be the whole of what I shall give to each and every of them of my estate. What I have settled upon my daughter Sarah shall be the whole of her portion of my estate. What I have given my son Joseph Hollister and settled upon him, together with the seven acres of exchanged (lands), the which I do hereby give and bequeath to him, shall be the whole of what he shall have of my estate. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Hollister, single woman, all my moveable estate, a certain parcel of land and all that part of the estate of my late brother Lazarus Hollister that may fall to me by law, and also what belongs to me of my late brother Joseph Hollister's estate, all to be to her and to her heirs forever.
