    Gray, John, b. 9/11/1759, Augusta County, Virginia; entered service 1777 in Rockbridge County, Virginia; Pensioned 1834 in Decatur County, Indiana; died 4/5/1836 in Greensburg, that County; married 3/15/1820 Nancy Pritchard, Scott County, Kentucky who married (2) 1/26/1837 William Walters, Decatur County, Indiana who died 6/4/1850; widow pensioned 1853 there at age 53 when sister Rachel Myers age about 55 filed affidavit there; widow age 68 when granted pension increase there in 1869; died 1/21/1883 in Clarksburg, Indiana; query letter in file in 1902 from descendant Mrs. Alice Markland, Clarksburg, Indiana states her father was son of soldier. F-W6395, R1115.
