Goddard is a 40 year old farmer who lives with his wife Ann and their children George, Sam L., Mary E., and John A. as well as their house servant Francis Remy and her 3 year old son Marion. Mary Ann Bennett Goddard must have died between 1880 and 1886. Per the Fayette County Courthouse Register of Marriages for the year 1886: John A. Goddard, age 44, widowed, Farmer, son of J and L, married Roda E. Holden, single, age 34 on Feb. 11, 1886. Both listed their birthplaces as Greenbrier Va., and their residence as Fayette. Her parents are not listed, but her mother lived with them as shown on the 1900 Census. Her name was Nancy Holdren, age 80 in 1900. John and Rhoda are shown on the 1900 and 1910 Census together with their children, Walter E., Norborn D. (female), Joseph E., and Noah C. In the 1910 census, John Andrew Goddard is aged 69 and Rhoda his wife is aged 58. In 1910, John and Rhoda have 2 teenage sons, Joseph E. (16) and Noah C. (13). This also shows that John A.
