    John T. Ganp, Attorney, Dies.

    Fort Worth -- John Thomas Gano, a 77-year-old Fort Worth lawyer who formerly practiced in Dallas, died here Tuesday after a lengthy illness.

    Gano, who resided at 4909 Staples, was honored by the State Bar of Texas in 1964 upon completion of a half century in the legal profession.

    The veteran lawyer was the grandson of Gen. Richard M. Gano, who came to Texas in 1840.

    Reared in Dallas, Gano received his law degree from The University of Texas in 1914 and served as an army pilot in World War I. He moved to fort Worth 30 years ago after practicing law in Dallas and Houston.

    Gano was a member of the First Christian Church, which his grandfather helped found.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gauseware Chapel with burial at 4 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery in Dallas.

    Survivors: Wife; a son, John Gano of Houston; and two daughters, Mrs. James Hopkins of Fort Worth and Mrs. James H. Russell of Denton.
