    Died on Sept. 26, 1891, John Ecker, Deceased was born in Germany in 1818, and was about 73 years old. He died of fever and paralysis. Mr. Ecker was one of the first German settlers of this portion of the county. The funeral services were conducted by the German minister from the lower German church. Quite a large concourse of neighbors and friends were present to pay the last tribute to one who was universally loved. He leaves four daughters who are all in good circumstances, and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of so good and generous hearted a father as such he was to all. To the bereaved are extended the heartfelt sympathies of all.
