He was granted 30 acres of meadow land 7 Mar 1643, and became a freeman in 1641. In 1647 his father gave him 6 acres and in 1659 the General Court granted him land at Sconsett. In 1661 he was appointed highway surveyor. His will names wife Mary, daughter Mercy, son John, Bartholomew Hamlin and wife Susannah (daughter), James Hamlin and wife Mary (daughter), Robert Barrow and wife Lydia (daughter).
