    John Dam, b. 23 Feb. 1667-8, liv. 1734. 4 Dea. John Dam (3). Constable 1696. … In 1739 he deeded the homestead at Dam's Point, Newington, to son John. Wife Jane Rowe (Richard). 2 Nov. 1732 he m. as her 4th husb. Elizabeth (Haley), wid. of Nicholas Hilliard, who d. Feb. 1765, ag. 99, leaving the most of ab. 300 descendants living. Ch: Zebulon, Rochester, mar. 16 Aug. 1716 Abigail Bickford(4). 6 ch. bp. John, had homestead at Dam's Pt., Newington, d. 1768; m. 20 Feb. 1718 Elizabeth Bickford(4). 11 ch. Richard, d. 13 May 1776, m. 24 Jan. 1724 Elizabeth Leighton (Thos.) 8 ch. Elnathan, Dover, m. 1 Nov. 1736 Mary Rollins. 3 ch. bap. Also presum. Alice, or Eliza, m. 5 May 1720 Samuel Rawlins.

    "(III) John Dame, second child of Sergeant John and Elizabeth (Furber) Dame, was born in Newington, February 23, 1668. He became prominent in the civil and religious affairs of his native town, which he represented at the general assembly in Portsmouth, and in 1722 he was one of the proprietors of Rochester. The date of his death does not appear in the records at hand. He married for his first wife Jane Rowe, born 1718, daughter of Richard Rowe. His second wife was Elizabeth Hoitt, and she survived him. His children, all of his first union were: 1. Zebulon, married Abigail Bickford and settled in Rochester. 2. John, married Elizabeth Bickford and remained in Newington. 3. Richard, see next paragraph. 4. Elnathan, a resident of Rochester and a member of Colonel Blanchard's regiment which served at Crown Point in 1758. 5. Eliza, who became the wife of Samuel Rawlins."
