1.1 John Dale2 was born 1686 and died 1778. He was known as John Dale Senior and/or
John Dale Irish. He was born in Ireland and died in Worcester County, Maryland.
John Dale Sr. patented Bear Quarter in 1747. He owned and operated "Mitchell's Store" in
Whaleyville which at that time was knows as "THE TURN IN THE ROAD"
until 1850 when it became Whaleyville. John Dale's will was probated
3/14/1778 Liber JW #4 pp 368-369.
married: 1712 to Elizabeth McKnight (1703-1775/6), the daughter of John McKnight II and
Martha Dale (sister of James and John). Elizabeth was born in Cecil County, Maryland.
John McKnight II was the son of John McKnight and Elizabeth Wallace.
