Cook, John - entered service in Winchester [Frederick County], Virginia; died 6/3/1836; married 8/23/1786 Mary ___ at home of her father Robert Heshman [Note: s/b Fleshman/Fleischmann], Culpeper County, Virginia; widow was born 6/5/1765; widow granted Pension 1846 in Greenbrier County, Virginia; children's births: Nancy 7/12/1787, James 9/12/1789, Thomas 5/31/1791, Malinda 5/21/1793, John 10/3/1795, Elizabeth 10/3/1797, Sarah 3/9/1799, Jesse 11/20/1800, Lewis 2/18/1804, Andrew H. 8/5/1806, Eli 9/18/1808, & Jennifer 10/24/1803; widow died 1/14/1853 in Greenbrier County, Virginia, leaving children John, Nancy Church, Lewis, Jesse, Andrew & Eli; son John applied for Pension due mother there in 1853 for all surviving children & granted; widow's brother Moses Heshman (Fleischmann), born 5/8/1760, made affidavit 1846 in Greenbrier County, Virginia.
