Bonnie, this is what I have on Kilkenny et. al. Hope this helps some.

SECOND GENERATION: John Clingenpeel, born ca. 1781 in Burks Co., Pennsylvania, was a son of Joseph and Sophia Clingenpeel of Franklin County, Virginia. He married Sarah Kilkenny, orphan daughter of John Kilkenny, on March 13, 1804 in Augusta County, Virginia. The Marriage Bond is dated March 12, 1804.

John and his family are listed in the 1810 Botetourt County and in the 1820 Rockbridge County, Virginia census records. These indicate John and Sarah had at least seven children, though I have documentation of only two: KILKENNY and WILLIAM [Bonnie, I would be interested in knowning where you found a record of the two others you name: E. H. and John]

Kilkenny's children were living in Preble Co., Ohio in August 1859.

John died before October 22, 1834. This is based upon the fact that his father, Joseph, wrote his will at that time and referred to John as being deceased.

THIRD GENERATION: KILKENNY CLINGENPEEL, son of John and Sarah Kilkenny Clingenpeel, was born ca. 1804. He married (1) Sarah "Sally" Fulwider, daughter of George Fulwider, on July 27, 1826 in Augusta County,Virginia. Kilkenny and his family had moved to Ohio by 1830; at that time they appear on the Preble County, Ohio census records.

The exact date of Sarah's death is uncertain. On August 15, 1859 her five children, who were residents of Preble County, were named as heirs at law of Sarah: "Witnesseth that whereas the said Sarah Clingenpell as a daughter and heir at Law of George Fulwider late of Augusta County, Virginia, deceased, was entitled to an interest in the land left by the said Father ..." [Augusta Co., Va. Deed Book 79, pp. 90-91]

Children of Kilkenny and Sarah Fulwider Clingenpeel:

1. MARY ANN CLINGENPEEL
2. JOHN CLINGENPEEL
3. SARAH JANE CLINGENPEEL
4. FRANCES MARION CLINGENPEEL
5. WILLIAM CLINGENPEEL

Kilkenny married (2) Margaret Coff? or Eoff? on October 4, 1840 in Miami County, Ohio. Upon his death, two minor children who are thought to be their children are mentioned in court records:

1. HARVEY JOHNSTON CLINGENPEEL
2. GEORGE W. CLINGENPEEL

Kilkenny died June 23, 1847 in Miami County, Ohio.

FOURTH GENERATION: JOHN "JAMES" CLINGENPEEL, son of Kilkenny and Sarah Fulwider Clingenpeel, was born July 2, 1829 in Harrison, Ohio. Amanda was born July 25, 1835; she died May 7, 1875 in Preble County, and was buried in Wheatville Cemetery, Wheatville, Ohio. Her tombstone inscription reads: "She lived as lives a peaceful Dove and died as blossoms die Now her spirit floats above, A seraph in the sky."
