John Francis Carrick fought in the Civil War on theConfederate side. He was seriously wounded at the Battleof Bull Run, the same battle in which his brother Joseph was killed. John recovered and rejoined his unit in Oct 1862. He was captured at Petersburg and held prisoner at Point Lookout MD until the end of the war.
