I John Carpenter of the parrish of Upcott in the county of Hereford, aged 88.
To be buried at South Chancel of Kynnersley Church where his Mother and first and last wife are buried with other members of his family.
Bequest to: Cosusin Thomas Kyrwood.
Had a bond with Thomas Weaver, John Bull, John Braine, of Amestrey, Hereford, to be given to Anne Weaver relict of Thomas Weaver.
20 pounds to granchild, Elinor Phillips.
Grandchildren: John Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, William Carpenter, Anne Carpenter, Humphrey Carpenter the eldest one.
Son-in-law: John Phillips.
Daughter: Elizabeth Phillips.
Friends: Henry Mathew of Almeley, Thomas Powell of Hereford, John Abele, Robert Vaughan, Sir Robert Whitney, Richard Hill.
Kinsman: John Harper.
Cousin: William Carpenter of Chilston.

He was no doubt the youngest son of John Carpenter of Kinnersley who died in 1572.
His cousin William Carpenter of Chilston is very important as will probably be seen with further research.
The relatives will prove useful, it is known the Smith family had close connections with the Hereford Carpenters.
