19 Jan 1779, Sgt John Breeding in Service Jan 19, 1779 until May 28, 1780 for 16 months & 9 days. Commanded by Brig. Gen George Rogers Clark on his expedition against the British strongholds in the West.
21 April 1780 - William Bartholomew, John Breeding, George King, Bob Logan, William Bohman, John Deck, John Cowan and Daniel Tyger are mentioned as being at Ft. Clark, some are later at Fort Jefferson.
1783, Washington County, Virginia - Order that John Breeding be Constable in Captain Cowans Company.
6 July 1785, Washington County, Virginia John Breeding marries Elizabeth Napper.
Sgt John Breeding was one of the first to arrive in the Big Bottom or Berger Bottom in Missouri September 21, 1818. September 22, 1818 an entry for John Breeding was made for part of Section 34, Township 46, Range 4 west. The first settler in the vicinity was John Breeding, in about 1820, who built a little log cabin 16X18 feet in size.
9 November 1822, Franklin County, Missouri John Breeding Jr bound to pay John Breeding Sr., for $1000 and good and valuable consideration agreed to take charge of, maintain and support of his aged father, John Breeding, Sr., and to keep his mother during their lives.
