11. John BRATTON was born in Oct 1756 in Augusta County, Virginia and died in 1823 in Logan County, Kentucky at age 67.

General Notes: In court records 22 Apr 1800 John is identified as aged 44, brother to Adam Bratton.

According to statements in the files of Augusta Co. chancery suit N.S. 187, Craig vs. Bratton, John Bratton, brother of Adam and one of the executors, left Virginia shortly after 1809, and died in Kentucky. Needs further research in Virginia and Kentucky records.

Moved to Kentucky about 1789, there are stories that he was running around with Daniel Boone.

Will executed in 1923 in Logan County, KY.

John married Sarah ANDERSON. Sarah was born about 1760 in Virginia.

+ 71 M i. John BRATTON was born in 1788 and died in 1833 in Franklin County, Tennessee at age 45.

+ 72 M ii. Joseph BRATTON was born in Mar 1791 in Logan County, Kentucky and died on 16 Aug 1864 in Decherd, Franklin County, Tennessee at age 73.

  73 M    iii. David BRATTON was born after 1795. 

John next married Judith MONTGOMERY on 25 Jun 1815 in Madison County, Kentucky. Judith was born about 1760 in Virginia.
