Bath Independent 7 Jan 1888 p. 5 "Society Gossip:"
- John Blaisdell, chief engineer of the tug B. W. Morse, has arrived home from Boston.
Bath Independent 3 Dec 1887 p. 5 "Like A Duck"
- The Biggest Tug in the World Swam the River as She Left for New York.
- The big tug B. W. Morse was given a trial spin Tuesday afternoon and everything worked to a charm. So Thursday morning [Dec 1] she went forth to startle the world. A very thing ot life she seemed, as she kissed the blue waves of the cold Kennebec a last farewell. A handsomer boat is not afloat. She is commanded by Capt. Charles Blair. John Blaisdell is the engineer assisted by Clinton Clark. Altogether there are seventeen men on the tug. Her destination is New York by way of Boston and her future will be devoted to ocean wreckage and towing the Morse coal barges. The net tonnage of the tug is 216.24. Length, 147 feet; breadth, 30.8 feet; depth, 16.3 feet. The engines are of Scottish make and have a horse power of 1500. This leviathan will give the Atlantic coast a few pointers about Bath ship yards.
1880 - Isabel C Wright lives with family as servant. 2nd household in house appears to be possibly John W's father?
Bath Independent and Enterprise 3 May 1905 p 4 "The Della Condemned"
Old Boat Refused Her Papers Until Vital Repairs Are Made.
As a result of an inspection by Messrs. Pollister and Trevott in Gardiner Friday, the steamer Della Collins is temporarily out of commission. The inspectors recommended many changes which will necessitate repairs being made before the boat can resume her work on the river. The chief fault found, it is reported, was with the hull and Shore Chief John Blaisdell of the Eastern Steamship Co. has asked the inspectors to set a date when they can examine the steamer on the marine railway. Mr. Blaisdell has also asked that the boat be given a permit to run until such date.
Should the recommendations of the inspectors call for too great an outlay, it is thought that the company will get a new boat instead of repairing the Collins which is nearly a quarter of a century old. It was reported that last season the inspectors informed the Eastern Steamship Co. that the boat would probably not be fit for use another season but the officials of the line claim that the hull is in better condition than it was last season. The company at present does not own a steamer suitable for navigating the shallow channel above Gardiner.
1912 Bath City Directory: Blaisdell Leeman Co also has John Davis as a principal (with JW Blaisdell and Henry TB Leeman).
1905-1912 Residence: 688 Washington is used as a duplex. In 1905, Theodore L Clarke lives there. In 1907, A J Slocum lives there.

Note: This compilation of vital records is known to have errors; it was the last collection Mary Pelham Hill worked on before her death and was finalized by others. I presume the date extracted from the Town Clerk's records (see S14) is more accurate.
