MR. J. B. ALLEN
The death occurred in the local District Hospital yesterday of Mr. John Birnie Allen, of Mogg's Swamp. The deceased gentleman was 79 years of age and had been a patient in the hospital for the past fortnight. The interment was made in the Church of England portion of the local cemetery this afternoon, Rev. A. W. Coates officiating at the graveside.

OBITUARY
MR. J. B. ALLEN.
Mr. John Birnie Allen, whose death occurred in the Glen Innes District Hospital this week, was a native of Brixton, England, and came to Australia 45 years ago. He had resided in the Glen Innes district for the last 43 years. In 1899 he married Miss Tronier, and she, together with two sons and two daughters, survives. For many years the late Mr. Allen was engaged in mining at Glen Elgin and Kingsgate, but during the past few years had been residing at Mogg's Swamp. The sons are George (Mogg's Swamp) and Cecil (Urunga), and the daughters, Mesdames Reginald Burgess (Newcastle) and Thomas Crockett (Newcastle).
