- Kahl Family Records: Col. Conrad Weiser was in connection with the Indian Chief Shikelamy. He was instrumental in saving this country for the English instead of for the French in the eighteenth century. He became the mediary between the Colonial government of Pennsylvania and the various tribes and confederations, from 1731 to his death in 1760.

The diary descended through the family of Frederick, Conrad's son, to Isaac Womelsdorf (1813-1882) great-great-grandson. Published by Heister H. Johan Frederick Weiser moved to Ohio in 1806, settling near Delaware in 1816 where John Frederick Weiser's book remained with his descendents until one; Florence Weiser Harger (1902-1954) presented it to the Association in 1960. - 1.Conrad came as a Palatine German to America with his father, Johann Conrad Weiser, Sr. in 1710. Mother died in Germany.

Conrad Weiser Jr.(by permission of his father), lived with Mohawks in the upper Schoharie Valley when he was 16 years of age from 1712-1713. 5. He learned the Mohawk language and customs of the Iroquois. 6. Returned home Schoharie in July of 1713. 7. Conrad Jr., married Anna Eva Feck, daughter of Johann Peter Feg (Feck) and Anna Maria Risch 8. 1723: The couple settled on a farm in Womelsdorf, Penn near Reading. They had 14 children. 9.Conrad Jr., was a farmer, tanner merchant, landowner, speculator. He drew the plans for the town of Reading in 1748. Also a key figure in the creation of Berks Co. 10.He was a lay minister and teacher in the reformed Lutheran Church. One of the founders of the Trinity Church in Reading, Penn., 11.His will bequeathed about 4,000 acres. 12.He is buried on his farm, on a small hill, west of his home.
