John Snider is identified in land transactions in Blount County Tn as living immediately "downriver" (to the north) of John Walker IV of the Wigton Walker lineage.

Area in green is approximate location of John Walkers Little River Property in 1818. Black spot marks location of modern community of Wallend. The year previous to this John IV sold the southern portion of this tract to his son John V. The northern portion of the green area was sold at auction to sons Robert and Samuel. The land of John Snider, listed in the property description, lay to the north of John IV's land; the exact boundary between the two holdings is unknown, and Snider's land probably includes portions of the area in green shown here, immediately south of Ellejoy Creek. John Snider is most likely the father of George Snider who John IV's daughter Mary.]]
