In the 1920 census, Joe is listed as Grover Stuart and in the Texas Death Index he is listed as Grover Stuart Jr. But the SSDI and his tombstone both listed him as Joe. This must have been the name he used to distinguish him from his father. He served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II according to his headstone.
