...m. Joanna (sometimes called Hannah) Plumb, whose g.s. beside Hugh's shows, "Wife of Hugh McChesney, Died Feb. 1819, aged 82" (so b. ca. 1737).

The 22 Aug. 1784 will of John "Plume" of Newark, Essex Co., N.J. left 35 pounds to his dau., Joannah McChesney (Archives of the State of New Jersey, 1st series, Vol. 6 - Wills: 310). The Plumbs (1635-1800), by H. B. Plumb, shows Joanna to have been dau. of John-4 Plume of Newark, N.J. by his 1st wife, Joanna Crane. John's line is shown as John-3 Plum of Newark, b. Branford, Conn. 28 Oct. 1657; Samuel-2 Plum of Branford, who rem. to Newark in 1668; and John-1 Plum, appraiser of Watertown (Wethersfield), Conn. in 1636, who rem. to Branford in 1644.
